New in our Gallery this month we have original linocuts by Ian Phillips – one of the most talented printmakers working today in Wales; he exhibits widely across the UK as well as in the USA, Hong Kong and Australia, having recently completed residencies and collaborations with artists abroad. We also have some new pieces of the unique mixed media sculpture made by David Cartlidge, incorporating various metals, bogwood, electrical components and tractor parts! A new collection of items made by Susie Grindey includes colourful cards, cushions and prints, some featuring various views of Betws y Coed and other interesting local towns and landscapes. More new domestic ceramics made in Betws by Janet Edwards also just arrived in the shop – jugs, mugs, dishes and plates
A new selection of work on the wall includes Clive Burnell, Matthew Snowden, Richard Morgan, Geoff Beckett, Bill Kneale, Ann Lewis and L. J. Holmes. Richard Morgan from Dolgellau is our latest addition to Galeri, his work includes colourful landscape paintings and prints as well as some of his more abstract mixed media pieces.

A small selection of new work by Dave Roberts are now hanging in the Gallery. These cleverly crafted pastels are an introduction to the grandeur of the whole area – an invitation to walk the mountains!
We have an eclectic new collection of cups, pots and vases by Virginia Graham, who transforms the ordinary past by drawing on a wide range of domestic traditions. Virginia uses a combination of slip casting and hand building techniques to create pieces in her signature style. Their surface decoration includes slip painting, enamel transfer printing and metallic lustre’s, making reference to historical wares including the familiar blue and white stripes of Cornish Ware as well as industrial plumbing and Victorian fabrics. The resulting pieces are eclectic and precious with a playful humour yet at the same time are ordinary and familiar reminding us of that bygone era when afternoon tea was a serious business!

Also we have exciting new footwear from Naturalista – LEATHER BUT NO LEATHER ‘Our vegan shoes contain no trace of animal products either in lining and cut or in treatment and finish. They are made of high quality fabric, mostly microfibers and cotton, characterized by imitating poly leather to perfection.’ New also is our LOFINA range of sandals, exquisitely made in Denmark. The company is a family run business, with the married couple Lise-Lotte and Morten Svenninggaard meeting each other at 18 years old, both learning all about shoes. After a visit to Italy where the admiration for Italian quality was born, they moved back to Denmark and started the Lofina fairytale in 1996.
