North Wales artist Beth Horrocks was raised on Anglesey, where she spent her formative years exploring and discovering the beauty of the landscape around her. From a young age, she was captivated by the power and grace of the coastal views that formed the backdrop to her childhood.

The movement of the waves, the sound of the sea meeting the shore, and the ever-changing moods of the coastline have continued to inspire Beth throughout her life. The natural world has an extraordinary ability to express countless emotions and intensities, and these qualities are reflected in her depictions of North Wales through her artwork.

After graduating with a degree in Graphic Arts in 2003, Beth went on to work as a graphic designer, specialising mainly in the water-sports industry. Her 16 years working with computer-aided design have transformed the way she creates, with digital tools becoming an important part of her artistic process.

While sketchbooks, pencils, paint, and mixed media remain part of her creative journey, her style has evolved alongside the freedom and possibilities offered by technology. Beth’s work is a celebration of Wales’ outstanding natural beauty and her deep connection to the coast. She is particularly inspired by the relationship people have with the shoreline, and the ways in which coastal landscapes can nurture both mind and body.
