Anwen Williams

Situated in the heart of the Conwy Valley, Anwen is a self-taught linocut artist whose practice is deeply informed by the surrounding landscape. Her studio, ‘Beudy Steps’, is a converted traditional stone cowshed located on her family’s farm. Within this authentic workspace, she has cultivated a dedicated practice focused on relief printing, capturing the distinct rhythm and spirit of rural life.

Drawing inspiration from renowned printmakers like Ann Lewis, Anwen’s work focuses on monochrome lino printing. Black and white inks allow her to explore bold contrasts, delicate textures, and dramatic light, bringing out the raw character of local wildlife, natural scenery, and the daily traditions of farm life.

Looking forward, Anwen’s goal is simple: to keep enjoying the hands-on process of relief printing while continuing to celebrate the stunning scenery right on her doorstep.
