Liz Toole is an artist and printmaker now based on Anglesey, where the island’s landscapes, wildlife and natural environment provide a constant source of inspiration. Her work celebrates nature, pattern and the rich decorative traditions of Britain, bringing together imagery of trees, plants and birds with influences from textiles and natural history.
Nature often acts as a metaphor for human emotions within Toole’s work. She creates imaginative, intricately patterned scenes using techniques including lino-cutting and screen-printing, producing hand-made prints in small editions.
Originally trained in ceramics, Toole’s practice evolved through painting, drawing, travel and an increasing fascination with printmaking. Since discovering the medium in 2005, she has continued to develop her distinctive approach through experimentation and craftsmanship.
Her work is characterised by vibrant pattern, colour and a playful yet thoughtful connection to the natural world.
