"After studying fine art at Cardiff College of Art, I moved to London to pursue a career in craft as a gilder and carver. I returned to painting in 2000 and now paint full time.
I am a member of the North Wales Society of Fine Art, and in 2016 I won the People's Choice award at the Royal Cambrian Academy Open in Conwy.
I aim to capture the wild landscape of Snowdonia, sculpted by the forces of wind, rain and ice, and the surprisingly vivid colours of blue-green glacial lakes and rock-strewn, grassy moraines. There is an intensity to this landscape, an untamed wildness that is both alluring and dangerous. I am fascinated by its illusion of permanence which belies its violent volcanic past and 450 million year journey to a become such a magnificent place" Gillian Yorath
We always have a varied selection of work by Gillian in Galeri.
