Aimee Jones

Aimee Jones B.A. (Hons)  Master in Fine Arts.

Aimee’s ongoing inspiration as an artist comes from her natural surroundings; exploring many places that create a sense of escape and cut out the white

noise of everyday life. The context of Aimee’s work represents specific elements of wildlife within the local Welsh landscapes, which are then

re-experienced through the act of drawing. The corvids are an ongoing subject; deeply beautiful and mischievous with an intriguing presence. Their energies have informed the expressive mark-making within Aimee’s entire art practice to the extent that whatever the subject may be, there is always a 'crow-like feeling.

Daw ysbrydoliaeth barhaus Aimee fel artist o’i hamgylchoedd naturiol; archwilio llawer o leoedd sy'n creu ymdeimlad o ddianc a thorri'r gwyn allan

sŵn bywyd bob dydd. Mae cyd-destun gwaith Aimee yn cynrychioli penodol elfennau o fywyd gwyllt o fewn tirweddau lleol Cymru, sydd wedyn yn cael eu hail- a brofwyd trwy y weithred o luniadu. Mae'r corvids yn bwnc parhaus; hynod o hardd a direidus gyda phresenoldeb diddorol. Eu hegni wedi llywio’r gwneud marciau mynegiannol o fewn ymarfer celf cyfan Aimee i'r graddau, beth bynag fyddo y pwnc, y mae teimlad tebyg i frân bob amser.
