Ikko by Ruth Vintr

Ruth Vintr, a graduate of Glasgow School of Art lives in a beautiful Welsh Valley with two children, two rabbits and a black cat. When she found some chipped, cracked and broken vintage china in a skip destined for landfill the accidental find took her on a journey, discovering the possibilities that these precious, patterned fragments offered. Using her textile background she seeks  ways to reuse every colourful find, selecting, cutting, shaping and edging each piece, transforming it into jewellery. This is alchemy turns a thing of little value into something very special.

The journey continues as her collection grows, vintage lace, applied pattern and glass are now also transformed into unique pieces of jewellery, ready to be worn, loved and cherished once more.
